My anxiety is blooming again And so are the geraniums That’s just a coincidence though I remember when the withered plants lay solemn and cold in deepest wintersleep But now the fiery red blossoms burst out of every bare stem like tiny joy-filled firecrackers Maybe a stray flowery spark will set me joyfully ablaze Or maybe I still have a long winter ahead of me It could be a coincidence But maybe God knew just when to make the geraniums bloom Jessica MurrayJessica Murray is an aspiring poet and artist from Atlanta, Georgia.
